PERSONAL
I was born in Linz, am married and the mother of two sons. The experiences from my own family life support my practical understanding of the concerns of parents and guardians. At the malacht medical center, I regularly strengthen the outpatient team on weekends to ensure continuous, interdisciplinary and high-quality medical care for our patients.
TRAINING
My professional and academic qualifications are based on multi-stage clinical specialization at recognized institutions in Vienna:
- Human medicine: Studied human medicine at the Medical University of Vienna.
- General Medicine: Internship and training as a physician for general medicine at the Hospital of the Brothers of Mercy Vienna
- Specialist Training: Specialization as a specialist in pediatrics and adolescent medicine at the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine of the Ottakring Clinic (formerly Wilhelminenspital)
- Specialized Additional Subject: Acquisition of the official specialization for the additional subject Neonatology and Pediatric Intensive Care Medicine (premature and newborn medicine as well as intensive care medicine in childhood)
- Additional Qualifications: Certified receipt of the emergency physician diploma as well as the school physician diploma of the Austrian Medical Chamber (ÖÄK)
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
The clinical and outpatient career includes many years of experience in the hospital acute care sector, intensive care and school medical care:
Clinical Activity and Neonatology (Ottakring Clinic): Until 2019, I worked in the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at the Ottakring Clinic. My clinical focus was on highly specialized care in the neonatology ward. This work included initial medical care, stabilization and long-term support of premature infants and critically ill newborns.
Outpatient Care and School Medicine: After the birth and parental leave of my second child, I shifted my activity primarily to the outpatient sector. I gained comprehensive experience through regular substitute activities in a health insurance practice for pediatrics and adolescent medicine in Lower Austria. In addition to my work in the practice, I also work as a school physician. As a result, I bring comprehensive expertise in the field of developmental medicine and health prevention for children and adolescents of school age.
I very much enjoy being a pediatrician. It is a privilege for me to be able to support and accompany children and their families in getting well and staying healthy.
AREAS OF FOCUS
- General Pediatrics & Preventive Medicine: Conducting all structured examinations within the framework of the parent-child passport, vaccination consultations according to the Austrian vaccination plan and ongoing developmental diagnostics
- Neonatology & Infant Medicine: Specialist follow-up care, consultation and developmental monitoring for newborns, infants and former premature infants.
- Acute Medicine & Weekend Service: Diagnosis and therapy of acute infectious diseases as well as acute care within the framework of regular weekend activities at malacht
- School Medical Consultation: Clarification of questions regarding physical and cognitive development in school and adolescent age
DIPLOMAS / CERTIFICATES
- Specialist Diploma for Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine: Official proof of pediatric specialist competence according to Austrian medical law
- Additional Subject Diploma for Neonatology and Pediatric Intensive Care Medicine: Recognized proof of specialized qualification for premature infant and intensive care medicine
- Emergency Physician Diploma: Valid diploma of the Austrian Medical Chamber for prehospital emergency medicine
- School Physician Diploma: Recognized ÖÄK diploma for the specific requirements of school medical care
- DFP Diploma: Valid continuing education diploma of the ÖÄK as proof of continuous medical education at the current state of science.
