<p><strong>PERSONAL</strong></p>
<p>I completed my schooling in Vienna and performed my military service at the Stammersdorf Army Hospital. I am married and the father of a daughter and a son. Through my decades of leadership at the University Hospital Vienna, I directly link top-tier university medicine with patient-oriented care in the outpatient sector. Since 2002, I have also been bringing this expertise to private practice. </p>

<p><strong>TRAINING</strong></p>
<p>My academic and clinical career is based on a multi-stage, internationally oriented education at leading medical institutions:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Human Medicine & Doctorate:</strong> Study of human medicine at the University of Vienna, graduating as a Doctor of General Medicine in 1987.</li>
<li><strong>International Research Stay:</strong> From 1988 to 1990, postgraduate research stay in New York City (USA) at Cornell University – New York Hospital, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.</li>
<li><strong>Clinical Basic Training:</strong> Resident physician at the Wilhelminenspital of the City of Vienna (now Klinik Ottakring).</li>
<li><strong>Research and University Career:</strong> Research associate at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Experimental Endocrinology and University Assistant at the University Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Vienna.</li>
<li><strong>Final Clinical Responsibility:</strong> Since June 1, 1999, I have been active as a Senior Consultant at the University Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, with the authority for final responsibility in the operating room and delivery room areas.</li>
<li><strong>Habilitation:</strong> In 2002, I completed my habilitation in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical University of Vienna and was granted the license to teach.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE</strong></p>
<p>My clinical practice includes decades of leading core obstetric areas of maximum university care, as well as significantly shaping medical treatment guidelines in the German-speaking region:</p>

<p><strong>Clinical Leadership and University Focus</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Delivery Room and Ward Management:</strong> I was the long-standing head of the delivery room and the pre-partal ward (ward for high-risk pregnancies) of the Department of Obstetrics and Feto-maternal Medicine at the University Hospital Vienna.</li>
<li><strong>Interdisciplinary Cooperation:</strong> Specialized care and postoperative follow-up for patients in close cooperation with the Continence and Pelvic Floor Center Vienna.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Scientific Guideline Work and Quality Assurance</strong><br />
As an expert, I am directly involved in the creation and updating of medical treatment standards:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Guideline Commission:</strong> Member of the Guideline Commission of the German Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics (DGGG) as the official representative of the Austrian Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics (OEGGG).</li>
<li><strong>AWMF Guidelines:</strong> Lead author of clinical guidelines for the Association of the Scientific Medical Societies (AWMF), including:

<li>Management of Preterm Birth</li>
<li>Peripartum Hemorrhage (Diagnosis, Therapy, and Management)</li>
<li>Management of 3rd and 4th Degree Perineal Tears after Vaginal Delivery</li>
</ul>

<li><strong>Austrian Birth Registry (GRÖ):</strong> Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Austrian Birth Registry for nationwide quality assurance in obstetrics.</li>

<p><strong>Teaching and Further Education</strong></p>

<li><strong>Clinical Training:</strong> Conducting regular training events on the management of emergencies in the delivery room (including the “Dienstfit” program, Karl Landsteiner Institute, Ordensklinikum Linz).</li>
<li><strong>Congresses:</strong> Invited speaker at national and international medical congresses.</li>

<li><strong>Holistic Pregnancy Care:</strong> Support during pregnancy within the framework of statutory preventive examinations (Parent-Child Pass) as well as postpartum follow-up.</li>
<li><strong>High-Risk Pregnancies & Feto-maternal Medicine:</strong> Specialized clarification, counseling, and monitoring for threatened preterm birth, multiple pregnancies, or maternal pre-existing conditions.</li>
<li><strong>Urogynäkological Counseling:</strong> Diagnostics and therapy planning for pelvic floor weakness and incontinence issues in cooperation with specialized centers.</li>
<li><strong>Second Opinion and Birth Planning:</strong> Specialist consultation before planned deliveries, especially after previous complicated births (e.g., high-grade perineal tears).</li>

<p>DIPLOMAS / CERTIFICATES</p>

<li><strong>Specialist Diploma in Gynecology and Obstetrics:</strong> Proof of full specialist qualification according to Austrian medical law.</li>
