I completed my entire academic and specialist medical training in Vienna. In addition to my many years as a senior physician at Vienna tertiary hospitals, I have been working as a private physician in outpatient practice since 2010. At the malacht practice, I continue this solid clinical experience in order to provide you and your child with outpatient care at university level.
TRAINING
The professional foundation of my work is based on specialized training at one of Europe’s largest university pediatric institutions:
- Human medicine: Studied human medicine at the Medical University of Vienna.
- Specialist training: Specialization as a consultant in pediatrics and adolescent medicine at the University Clinic for Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine of Vienna General Hospital (AKH).
- Clinical specialization: Advanced training in the specific field of “Inborn errors of metabolism and newborn screening” at the AKH Vienna University Clinic.
- Scientific work: Research in the field of pediatric metabolic medicine with several publications in internationally recognized specialist journals (peer-reviewed).
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
My clinical career includes decades of experience in inpatient acute medicine as well as leading specialized outpatient clinics in Vienna:
University and clinical specialization:
- Vienna University Clinic: Two years of specialist work in the specialist area of “Inborn errors of metabolism” at the University Clinic for Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine.
- Klinik Favoriten (Preyer Children’s Hospital): Many years as a senior physician in the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine with a focus on pediatric neurology.
Establishment of specialist outpatient clinics and current position:
- Outpatient clinic management: Establishment and medical leadership of a specialized outpatient clinic for obesity and metabolic disorders at Klinik Favoriten.
- Klinik Floridsdorf: Currently working as a senior physician in the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at Klinik Floridsdorf, ensuring continuous connection to current hospital practice.
For me, thorough pediatric care means precisely understanding complex medical and metabolic interrelationships and offering families reliable, science-based support along the way.
AREAS OF FOCUS
- General pediatrics & prevention: Performing all Mother–Child Health Record examinations (Parent–Child Health Record), vaccination counseling, and ongoing developmental diagnostics.
- Inborn errors of metabolism: Diagnostic evaluation, counseling, and long-term care for metabolic diseases (including newborn screening findings).
- Obesity & endocrine issues: Specialist care for early childhood or adolescent overweight and associated metabolic changes.
- Pediatric neurology co-care: Incorporating clinical experience in the evaluation of developmental delays or neurological issues in childhood.
DIPLOMAS / CERTIFICATES
- Specialist diploma in pediatrics and adolescent medicine: Official proof of pediatric specialization under Austrian medical law.
- DFP diploma: Valid continuing education diploma from the Austrian Medical Chamber (ÖÄK) as proof of ongoing medical training in line with the latest scientific standards.
