PERSONAL

I was born in Vienna in 1955 and am the father of two sons. As the founder and managing director of malacht Kinder- und Jugendmedizin, I lead the structuring and medical direction of the medical center to ensure seamless and multidisciplinary care for young patients in Vienna.

TRAINING

My professional qualifications are based on multiple specialist and psychotherapeutic training programs at university and clinical institutions:

• Human Medicine: Studies at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Vienna.
• Specialist Training I: Specialization as a specialist in pediatrics and adolescent medicine.
• Specialist Training II: Specialization as a specialist in the field of anesthesiology and intensive care medicine.
• Psychosomatics & Psychotherapy:
  Completion of the psychosomatics curriculum with the attainment of the ÖÄK diploma “Physician for Psychosomatics.”
  Ongoing training as a psychotherapist based on Katathym Imaginative Psychotherapy via the Austrian Society for Autogenic Training and Psychotherapy (ÖGATAP).
• Emergency Medicine: Recognition and authorization for service as an emergency physician.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

My decades of clinical and outpatient practice include leadership roles in university and pediatric hospital settings:

University and clinical activities:

• Vienna University Hospital: From June 1994, I served as a university assistant at the Clinic for Anesthesia and General Intensive Care Medicine at the University of Vienna.
• St. Anna Children’s Hospital: In March 2000, I was appointed senior physician and head of the surgical unit at the renowned St. Anna Children’s Hospital in Vienna, focusing on perioperative care and the safety of children.

Private practice and founding:

• Private Practice: Since April 2010, I have been working in private practice as a pediatrician, anesthesiologist, and pain therapist. The focus here is on the interface between pediatrics, pain medicine, and psychosomatic support.
• Business Management: I am the founder and managing director of malacht Kinder- und Jugendmedizin, with the goal of pooling specialist expertise centrally and in a patient-oriented manner. Since April 2010, I have been working in private practice as a pediatrician, anesthesiologist, and pain therapist. The focus here is on the interface between pediatrics, pain medicine, and psychosomatic support.
  Business Management: I am the founder and managing director of malacht Kinder- und Jugendmedizin, with the goal of pooling specialist expertise centrally and in a patient-oriented manner.
